My scientific interest so far was focused on the development of
Fluorescence In Situ Hybridization (FISH) methods for microbial ecology. During my PhD with Rudolf Amann at the Max Planck Institute for Marine Microbiology, Bremen, I have developed
geneFISH - an in situ method for simultaneous rRNA and gene detection in environmental microorganisms. Starting with April 2010 I am a postdoctoral researcher in the Amann lab, where I continue my work on geneFISH and other FISH developments.
