Main Research Interests
My work focuses on the drivers of metabolism in benthic habitats, for example seagrass beds and coastal sands, using the eddy covariance technique.
The primary production of these ecosystems is driven by changes in light, nutrients, temperature, and water velocity, among other factors. With the eddy covariance technique we can quantify the response of ecosystems to day-to-day variation in these drivers. The resulting observations can improve our predictions of an ecosystem's response to environmental change.
