Research

I am working on the chemosynthetic symbiosis between gutless oligochaetes and bacteria. Specifically,  I am investigating the Alphaproteobacteria which are one of the main groups of symbionts. I aim to describe the diversity of these Alphaproteobacteria based on metagenomics. Furthermore, I will investigate the metabolism of the most abundant alphaproteobacterial species and its role in the symbiosis based on metagenomics, metatranscriptomics and metaproteomics.
